Today, the 30th of April, Plopsa and Momentum Capital presented the brand-new theme park Majaland Warsaw to the public. The construction of the park has a price tag of €30 million euros.
As from today, Plopsa has a brand-new park within its international theme park group. Majaland Warsaw, the second Polish themepark after Majaland Kownaty, was presented to the general public by means of a small opening ceremony in attendance of CEO of the Plopsa Group, Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of Momentum Capital, Martijn van Rheenen and Head of Wiązowna Commune, Janusz Budny.
“We are delighted to once again have made this happen together with Momentum Capital,” explains Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group. “Building the first Polish park, Majaland Kownaty, was a big challenge because we were doing something unprecedented and innovative in Poland. We learned a lot and have taken all those learnings with us to the new park in Warsaw, which resulted in a spectacular new themepark. The result is wonderful, we are extremely proud of what our investment team has accomplished. As far as I am concerned, Majaland Warsaw is the second but definitely not the last Plopsa park we are constructing in Poland.”
Also Martijn van Rheenen, founder of Dutch Momentum Capital, is pleased with the results: “We are proud to have extended our formula for success together with the Plopsa Group by realizing Majaland Warsaw. In addition, we are of course grateful for the cooperation with Ceetrus and the team of Nhood Poland, which represents a great opportunity to combine shopping and entertainment.”
After the ceremony, the park welcomed numerous Ukrainian families as well. “In this difficult humanitarian situation of neighboring country Ukraine, it didn’t feel right to organize a big festive opening event of the park, so we deliberately chose to keep the opening small in scale. We invited Ukrainian families who are staying in the neighborhood instead. With this small gesture of solidarity, we hope to alleviate the children’s concerns, even if it’s only for a day.”
26 attractions
Majaland Warsaw offers 26 attractions for all ages and has a spacious indoor zone and complementing outdoor zone. In addition, also multiple horeca points and a shop will be present. Majaland Warsaw, as the name suggests, is dominated by the popular character Maja the Bee. But also Vic the Viking and Heidi are occupying an important place in the park. The outdoor area is completely dedicated to Super Wings. Majaland Warsaw is part of an innovative complex called Project Góraszka. The park is an investment of €30 milion and is expecting to receive 350.000 visitors during the first year.
