Finnish energy producer can replace fossil coal with CEG’s sustainable black pellets

The Finnish energy producer Turun Seudun Energiantuotanto Oy (TSE) can replace fossil coal with the sustainable black pellets without adapting their plant.

This is the outcome of a large-scale test with over 1,000 ton black pellets produced by tech-company CEG, our participation. The pellets proved not only to have an equivalent energetic value as coal, but they also equaled in the field of weather and water resistance in the outdoor storage.

Adapting a plant for the use of more sustainable fuels generally costs tens to hundred million dollars and delays production by months or even years. But in contrast to the use of white and brown pellets, by using CEG’s black pellets no significant adjustments are needed to the plant.
