Paramount chooses Momentum Leisure for theme parks in Central Europe

Paramount, one of the world's largest media and entertainment companies, recognizes the potential of the Central European market and immediately takes a position with an agreement to further develop and expand Momentum Leisure's theme parks there. Paramount makes the well-known characters of its subsidiary Nickelodeon available, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dora.

Three theme parks operational after an investment of 150 million euros
With an investment of 150 million euros, partly from its largest shareholder Momentum Capital, Momentum Leisure has completed three operational parks in the Polish-German border area near Berlin (2018), Warsaw (2022) and, officially opened last weekend, in Gdansk.

Expansion of existing and new theme parks with Nickelodeon themes
Paramount Location-Based Entertainment & Experiences and Momentum Leisure have jointly agreed to further theme the three operational parks and create new theme parks in strong metropolitan areas of Central Europe. In the collaboration, Momentum Leisure will, as owner, take care of the construction and operation of the parks. Paramount provides long-term design and licensing services. Momentum Leisure has proven that its operational parks can meet Paramount's high quality requirements for design and theming.

Market of 55 million inhabitants
Momentum Leisure has negotiated long-term exclusivity with Paramount for the use of Nickelodeon characters in its parks. The exclusivity concerns a market of more than 55 million people in Central Europe, including Poland. Paramount and Momentum Leisure signed the cooperation agreement last weekend during the official opening of the Momentum Leisure theme park in Gdansk, where the first outdoor zone with Nickelodeon themes will be realized this year.

Paramount immediately strengthens its global market position with Central Europe
After collaborating with Parques Reunidos, strongly represented with theme parks in Western Europe, among others, Paramount has now chosen Momentum Leisure for its growth with theme parks in Central Europe. This part of the European continent is a strong growth market where theme parks are being introduced for the first time. With its existing parks and more than 200 hectares of building land for growth, Momentum Leisure, led by CEO Wouter Dekkers, is the partner for Paramount to further introduce Nickelodeon in theme and water parks.

Momentum Leisure receives 20 million euros in additional growth capital
To further realize its growth strategy, Momentum Leisure has received a fresh capital injection of 20 million euros over the past six months from Momentum Capital, which is the largest shareholder of Momentum Leisure with approximately 50% of the shares owned. Momentum Leisure is fully financed by its shareholders and has no external (bank) financing.
